Position: Teaching Assistant Location: Merton, South West London School: SEMH Secondary School Contract Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm Start Date: September 2024 About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a thriving SEMH Secondary School near Merton. Your role will be pivotal in supporting students with a range of emotional and behavioral needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. * The school is located near an overground station and local bus routes to Croydon, Wandsworth, Lambeth connecting to Tram and undergrounds links. * Free local parking * Continued training and CPD Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities: * Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. * Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior support strategies. * Work closely with teachers to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. * Foster positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation. * Support the development of social skills and emotional resilience in students. * Monitor and report on student progress to ensure tailored support is provided. Teaching Assistant - Requirements: * Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable however a keen interest in working with vulnerable people is what is essential * A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills. * A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
