Teaching Assistant SEMH Secondary School recruiting SEMH Teaching Assistants for September start * Monday to Friday * Long-term, Full-time * 8.30am-4.45pm Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the dedication and skills to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Position: Teaching Assistant Location: Merton, South West London School: SEMH Secondary School Contract Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm Start Date: September 2024 About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a thriving SEMH Secondary School near Merton. Your role will be pivotal in supporting students with a range of emotional and behavioral needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. * The school is located near an overground station and local bus routes to Croydon, Wandsworth, Lambeth connecting to Tram and undergrounds links. * Free local parking * Continued training and CPD Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities: * Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. * Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior support strategies. * Work closely with teachers to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. * Foster positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation. * Support the development of social skills and emotional resilience in students. * Monitor and report on student progress to ensure tailored support is provided. Teaching Assistant - Requirements: * Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable however a keen interest in working with vulnerable people is what is essential * A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills. * A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
