1:1 Teachers required in Walthamstow and Tower Hamlets for a September 2024 start Both full and part time roles available The SEND team at Strategy are looking for qualified teachers with QTS or QTLS, who are looking for 1:1 work both full and part time to work with primary and secondary pupils who are not in school for various reasons. We are looking for Primary and Secondary teachers in the Walthamstow or Tower Hamlets area to work both full and part time. The hours are flexible, and most students get 15 hours tuition per week. The successful teacher must be able to teach cross curricular if a Secondary teacher (Maths, English and Science). Mornings will be between 9.00am – 12 noon or 9.15am – 12.15pm Whole days will involve one student in the morning and another in the afternoon. Morning session rate of pay £80.00 – £90.00 per morning Whole day rate of pay £160.00 – £180.00 per day These roles are rewarding, and the primary activity is to provide an individualised education both academically and socially in the community in either a school setting or designated public building such as a Library. You will be supporting students who are not in mainstream schools for various reasons including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, PMLD, school refuser's with anxiety and students who have been excluded from a mainstream setting. Duties include: Assessing the individual needs of the pupil and following their EHCP’s if applicable Managing challenging behaviour in a positive and calm way Have the ability to differentiate work according to each child’s individual needs Ideal candidate: Must hold QTS or QTLS Be a good communicator and be able to build positive working relationships with both the pupils and their families Have previous experience working with students on the SEN register, experience could have been gained in mainstream, special school, alternative provision or PRU’s Candidates must have The legal right to work in the UK You must hold QTS/QTLS or a recognised teaching qualification Hold a Bachelor of Education, PGCE or UK recognised equivalent teaching qualification Enhanced DBS Certificate, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) Two professional reference checks Please note: Although these roles are long term they are not suitable for teachers looking for a permanent role due to the nature of the work.
